Throwstorm 2022 Rules

Throwstorm 2022 will be utilizing Blade Aces standard, scoring and targets.

Rotational Axe/Hawk
Throwers must have three axes or hawks. They need not match.
Any hatchet/hawk/axe legal in any organization or league may be used. 

 

Amateur Axe/Tomahawk Division

1: The Amateur division is open to anyone who would like to compete in it. If you have thrown a score of 140 or more in a competition, you must compete in the Pro division.

2: The Amateur division is a 3 Axe/Tomahawk, 4 lane, 3 distance throw.

3: Amateurs throw from behind the 3, 4 and 5 meter lines.

4: You may throw any amount of spins you choose, as long as you are behind the foul line.

5: 1 Axe/Tomahawk is thrown at each of the 3 targets at each distance, moving left to right.

6: Throwers will start in the practice lane and get one round worth of practice, throwing along with the rest of the competitors.

7: The throwers will start their competition in lane one, at the 3m line, throwing sets of three at each line all the way back to the 5m line. The thrower will shift over to the 2nd lane and start again at the 3m line through 5m. Then shift to the 3rd lane and repeat, then the 4th lane and repeat.


Minimum distance thrown will be 3 meters.
Targets will be three Blade Aces style targets thrown from left to right.
Four sets of three throws will be thrown with a possible total of 180 points.
Target scoring is using standard Blade Aces rules and template.

Professional Axe/Tomahawk Division

Amateur No-Spin Division

1: The Amateur division is open to anyone who would like to compete in it as long as they have never thrown a score of 200 or more in a competition.

2: The Amateur division is a 3 knife, 4 lane, 4 distance throw.

3: Amateurs throw from behind the 2, 3, 4 and 5 meter lines.

4: 1 knife is thrown at each of the 3 targets at each distance, moving left to right.  The knife is not allowed to make a rotation, or it that throw will be disqualified.

5: Throwers will start in the practice lane and get one round worth of practice, throwing along with the rest of the competitors.

Throwstorm Games Rules
 

Che Che Whitecloud Memorial Yeti Silhouetti (Silhouette)
Throwers must use three knives, they need not match. Distance will be 2 meters, any style may be used.
Hitting the Yeti will result in disqualification.
Targets with be scored as five points each. The ‘killshot’ is scored at 25 points.
The last target may be skipped and the killshot may be thrown at. 
The targets will be thrown in sets of three. Starting at bottom left to top left, bottom right to top right.
Maximum possible points will be 60 without the killshot, maximum possible points with the killshot will be 80.


Speed Cicles (Speed Knives)
30 knives will be supplied to the throwers.
Throwers will have 20 seconds to throw the knives at the three targets.
Knives must stick in the target faces to be scored.
Distance will be 2 meters and all knives must be thrown ½ spin.
Maximum points possible: 30


The Bullseye Buster

Six targets will be set up in two columns of three.

Scoring will be only be counted for bullseye, 4pt ring and 3pt ring.

One knife thrown at each target, starting at top left, moving downward in a "U" shape, ending at top right.

Distance will be 3 meters minimum and knives may be thrown any style.

Maximum points possible: 30

Last Chance Ladder

5 playing cards will be set up in a stair step configuration.

Throwers will have 5 chances to stick the first (lowest) card.

One knife thrown at a time, then retrieved.
Once the first card has been stuck, the thrower then proceeds to the second through fifth cards, with one
throw attempted at each card.

Distance will be 3 meters minimum and knives may be thrown any style.

Scoring is typical Mountain Man Scoring.  Center-cut = 3 pts, Edge Cut = 2 pts, Target Stick = 1 pt.

Maximum points possible: 19
